Over 47,000 2021 Nissan Rogues Recalled For Preventing Child Seats From Being Securely Anchored

Over 47,000 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles have been recalled for failing to securely anchor a child seat to the seatback frame. The faulty tether wires involved in the recall may increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

Nissan North America, Inc. says the second-row upper tether wires may have been improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a child seat from being securely anchored. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, “Child Restraint Anchorage Systems.”

Dealers will inspect and replace the rear seatbacks as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 30, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan’s number for this recall is PC812.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
