Mesa Police Department officers are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for sexual assault and kidnapping in two separate incidents over the past two weeks.
According to the Department, on August 16, around 8:00 p.m., the suspect contacted a female victim near S. Alma School and W. Main Street in Mesa and offered her a ride. Once the female was inside the vehicle, the driver pulled into a parking lot where he displayed a handgun and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and the vehicle left in an unknown direction.
On August 26, at around 10:00 p.m., the suspect contacted a different female victim at the bus stop near S. Stapley and E. Southern Ave and he offered her a ride. The suspect parked the vehicle into an empty parking lot in the area where he displayed a handgun and attempted to sexually assault her before she was able to exit the vehicle and get away.
Both victims provided the following description of the suspect and vehicle:
Suspect: White male, possibly Hispanic, bald or buzz cut, late 30’s, muscular build.
Vehicle: Early 2000 tan Ford F150 4-door. Stickers on back window.
Both victims gave the same description of the handgun and pictured vehicle.
