Flagstaff Firefighters Help Arizona Game and Fish Officer Save Bear In Tree

Flagstaff Fire and Arizona Game and Fish staff rescue black bear in tree.

On Sunday morning, the Flagstaff Fire Department responded to a request for assistance from the Arizona Game and Fish with the removal of a black bear from a large tree next to the new Arizona Department of Transportation building in town.

Once on the scene, fire personnel realized that the other ladder truck in town would be a safer way to remove the bear because their ladder truck is equipped with a platform on the front.

The ladder truck team was able to position their truck “perfect for the removal of the bear.”

After the bear was tranquilized, members of the ladder truck team as well as a Arizona Game and Fish officer were able to put the bear in the platform and lower it down to the ground safely.
