PHOENIX, AZ — On Thursday, Governor Doug Ducey vowed to push back against President Biden’s new COVID-19 mandates, which he characterized as “dictatorial” maneuvers that amount to “another egregious big government overreach.”
“Joe Biden has failed us on COVID,” said Ducey. “He ran for office on a promise to ‘shut down the virus.’ He has failed on this, much as he has failed on the border crisis and in Afghanistan. So now, President Biden’s plan is to shut down freedom.”
Biden called for as many as 100 million Americans to be forced to be vaccinated against COVID-19 despite the fact that is has a recovery rate of over 98 percent. His plan requires private companies with more than 100 employees to force vaccines on their employees or face exorbitant penalties.
Ducey says the president’s plan “usurps the rights of employers and employees who are the backbone of our nation.”
Both Ducey and Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich say Biden’s plan is unconstitutional.
“These mandates are outrageous. They will never stand up in court. We must and will push back,” said Ducey.
