Missing Maryland Man Found Near Roosevelt Point On North Rim

Grand Canyon, AZ – The National Park Service has successfully located a man, Clifton Beck, who had gone missing.

On Friday, September 17 at approximately 8:18 a.m., search and rescue personnel located Beck near Roosevelt Point on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.

Beck of Mount Airy, Maryland was reported as overdue on September 14. Beck obtained a backcountry permit to spend two nights on the Walhalla Plateau from September 10-12.

From September 15-17, rangers conducted a comprehensive search of the Walhalla plateau using ground teams, helicopter flights, and a fixed wing aircraft.
