2 Suspects In Yuma Drive-By Shooting Arrested, 1 Suspect Sought

On Friday, August 27, 2021, at approximately 6:00 PM, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 500 Block of S. 41st Drive in reference to a Drive-By Shooting.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the resident of the home who reported three subjects fired approximately 2-3 rounds towards a victim and (3) minor children as they exited their vehicle and attempted to go inside the home. None of the victims sustained injuries.

During the course of this investigation, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office identified and arrested two suspects. Esequiel Ruelas-Ibarra, 19, of Yuma, AZ was arrested and booked on October 1, 2021, for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Drive-By Shooting and numerous other felony charges. Monique Guerrero, 34, of Yuma, AZ was arrested and booked on October 6, 2021, on 4 counts of Drive-By Shooting and Hindering Prosecution.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have identified Edward Francisco Ruelas, 37, of Yuma, AZ as another person of interest in this case. Investigators are seeking the public’s help with information that may lead to his location. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office would like to recommend to the public that if you see this individual, please do not approach him and instead contact law enforcement.
