A 41-year-old woman, Miriam “Mimi” Shekhmoos, is in custody after she allegedly shot a man she claimed was a shoplifter. In 2020, Shekhmoos accused a driver with Door Dash of giving her hush money to be quiet about a delivery gone wrong.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Circle K in the area of 34th and Dunlap.

According to police, Shekhmoos claimed she “tried to stop him from leaving the store with the merchandise.”

Shekhmoos claimed  the man pushed past her and started to run so she shot him.

Police say the victims injuries were serious.

Shekhmoos was charged on one count of aggravated assault.
