ASU Police Seeking Armed Sexual Assault Suspect

Arizona State University Police officers are seeking the identity of an armed sexual assault suspect.

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, they received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in the area between the ASU Packard parking structure (555 S. Packard Dr.) and the Hyatt House Tempe (601 E. 6th Street), according to the Arizona State University (ASU) Police Department.

Reportedly, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and held a metal knife-like object to her throat. The victim was then taken to an unknown location near Packard parking structure, where the suspect sexually assaulted her. The suspect pressed a gun-like object into the victim’s back and left the area on foot. Both Tempe and ASU Police responded, and the suspect was unable to be located.
