Maricopa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chad Brackman Killed Directing Traffic In Scottsdale

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Chad Brackman was killed on Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic in Scottsdale.

Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone held a press conference to discuss the tragedy. He said Lt. Brackman, a 22-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office was a “good quality man.”

“A very good man,” said Penzone. “I can tell you because I did know Chad. He has a beautiful family, and they are all suffering now, as is our organization and law enforcement community.”

Lt. Brackman was killed while working off-duty directing traffic at the intersection 87th Street and McDowell Road.

Lt. Brackman was transported to a hospital in Scottsdale where he succumbed due to severe injuries.

The driver involved was taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
