On Friday, Gilbert firefighters came to the rescue of a horse named “Fish.” Watch as the crew, with the help of heavy equipment, fish “Fish” out of a ditch it had fallen into.
Gilbert Fire And Rescue posted the video and following message on Facebook:
How many people does it take to get a horse out of a ditch? 🐴
For this call, it took one fire crew, one emergency livestock veterinarian, one construction crew and GFRD’s resident “cowboy” firefighter (who happened to be off-duty that day).
Together, we were able to safely evacuate the horse. The horse did not have any broken bones, according to the vet’s initial post-rescue assessment.
It takes a village and we are so grateful to be a part of this one.
