Controversy continues to swirl around the Scottsdale Unified School District and on Thursday a Chaparral High School staff member was arrested after being accused of sexual misconduct with a student.
Nicholas Claus, a 62-year-old instructional support paraeducator, was booked into jail under suspicion of sexual abuse, child abuse, and public sexual indecency.
According to a District official, Claus was hired by the Scottsdale Unified School District on August 21, 2019. He was assigned to Chaparral High School after he cleared a pre-employment background check.
