On November 21, 2021 at 12:45 pm, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to intersection of Kachina Trail and Canyon Loop in Kachina Village for a report of a vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a 12 year old male who was riding a skateboard.
Highlands Fire Department Paramedics were on scene when Deputies arrived and were performing CPR on the male. The male sustained significant injuries during the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Medical Personnel.
The driver of the vehicle was cooperative with investigators and there was no impairment noted during the initial aspects of the investigation. The driver submitted to a blood test in which the results are pending.
The investigation by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Coconino County medical Examiners Office continues.
