On Monday November 22, 2021 two 14-year-old females were reported missing after being engaged in social media interactions with an adult male.

The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) immediately began a comprehensive investigation and followed up on numerous tips and leads.  Probable cause was established on December 1, 2021 that the teens were in the company of Moss Worthington.  OVPD applied for a search warrant of Worthington’s apartment where the teens were located.  Subsequent investigation by CIU identified Worthington had been corresponding with one of the females via social media for several weeks.  Worthington is currently confined in the Pima County Jail on the following charges:

  • Two counts of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation
  • Eleven counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor
  • Two Counts of Custodial Interference

The minor victims are safe, and the Department of Child Safety is involved.  There are no additional threats to the community.

This remains on ongoing investigation.  If you have any additional information, contact Det. Montijo at the Oro Valley Police Department. (520) 229-4900
