Pinal County Sheriff's Office personnel take Sullivan into custody.

A man, Jacob Sullivan, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the sexual assault of a 6-year-old, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 11, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies were contacted by a Queen Creek urgent care clinic after the 6-year-old child tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease.

During the investigation, the child said Sullivan, her father’s roommate, had sexually assaulted her.

On December 20, a warrant was issued for Sullivan’s arrest.

On the morning of December 21, PCSO deputies arrested Sullivan in north Peoria. He was booked into the Pinal County Jail on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor. His warrant came with a $100,000 bond. Sullivan was also wanted on an unrelated warrant out of the Copper Corridor Justice Court in Superior, that warrant came with an additional $3,343 bond.

During his initial appearance, a judge ruled because of the nature of the alleged sex offenses, Sullivan was not eligible for bond.

“Getting this sexual predator off the streets was our number one priority. I am pleased with our Detectives for making quick work of this suspect,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “I pray that the victim in this case finds comfort and healing. We stand with her and all victims of abuse. We are here for you.”
