Maricopa County Sheriff’s Detectives Arrest Woman For Hit-And-Run That Killed Bicyclist

On Wednesday, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office traffic detectives arrested 23-year-old Alexandra Mendez for a hit and run which took the life of a bicyclist.

Mendez was booked on one count of leaving the accident w/death/injury (Class 2 Felony) and one count of manslaughter (Class 2 Felony).

On December 19, at about 6:51 p.m., a bicyclist was run over after being struck by the car allegedly driven by Mendez on Northern Avenue east of Reems Road in Glendale.

Mendez fled the scene westbound on Northern Avenue following the collision.
