A Snowflake man, Jeffery Clyde Perkins, was arrested and booked for multiple arrest warrants last week.

According to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, on January 5, 2022, Navajo County deputies, detectives, and members of the White Mountain Regional Special Response Team (SRT) arrested Perkins, age 28.

On January 2, 2022, Navajo County Sheriff’s Office received a report of domestic violence and assault, at a residence on Mountain View Road, east of Snowflake. Deputies responded and took the initial report. Perkins was not located and his whereabouts at the time were unknown. The case was turned over to Navajo County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Unit for further investigation. During the investigation, it was learned that Perkins was the suspect involved. Further research into Perkins revealed he had multiple arrest warrants out of both Apache and Navajo County.

Deputies and Detectives were attempting to locate Jeffery between Monday, January 3rd, and Tuesday, January 4th. A search warrant was served at a residence on Mountain View Road, relating to the original domestic violence call. While deputies and detectives were conducting the search, information was obtained that Perkins was hiding at a residence on Pinto Road in Snowflake. Deputies attempted to have Perkins exit the residence and surrender, which he refused and barricaded himself inside the residence with a weapon.

Detectives requested the assistance of SRT to assist in a safe apprehension of Perkins. Following an approximately 6-hour standoff between SRT and Perkins, he was taken into custody without any further incident.

Perkins was booked into Navajo County Jail on four outstanding arrest warrants out of Navajo County and one arrest warrant out of Apache County, with additional charges pending from the original domestic violence investigation.
