A MESSAGE FROM TYLER MOLDOVAN’S WIFE, CHELSEA, ON BEHALF OF THEIR FAMILY

On December 14, 2021 my world was shattered when the love of my life, Tyler Moldovan, nearly lost his life doing what he loves, serving his community as a Phoenix Police Officer. These past few weeks have been a blur. The emotional rollercoaster we have all been on has been unimaginable.

Our family and I are overwhelmed at the incredible outpouring of support we have received. The doctors, nurses, medical staff and those associated with the hospital have been nothing short of incredible. The cards, letters, posts, blue ribbons and vigils that have been sent and carried out by our family, friends and the community have helped lift our spirits. I can’t say enough about our Phoenix police family who have been unwavering in their care and concern. Most importantly, the prayers have been felt and are witnessed daily.

Without going into details about the severity of Tyler’s condition, we can say that he endured extensive neurologic injuries. The doctors consider his current condition to be stable, and he remains on a ventilator. We have been praying for a miracle and see glimpses of one every day. We know that Tyler recognizes those around him and responds with facial expressions like smiling. When no one thought he would, he opened his eyes. We hold onto our faith that Tyler will continue to make progress.

He has been a miracle already and the progress he has made in three weeks alone is marvelous; the impossible is being made possible.

Thank you falls short in expressing our gratitude for all the support and prayers we have received. We appreciate the respect that has been shown Tyler and our family in maintaining our privacy. We ask that you continue to lift Tyler up in your prayers for we have a mighty and loving God.

“The doctors consider his current condition to be stable, and he remains on a ventilator. We have been praying for a miracle and see glimpses of one every day,” wrote Chelsea.

A career criminal, Essa Williams, shot the 22-year-old Officer Moldovan eight times, including a shot to his head.

Williams “continued to shoot the officer even after the officer was on the ground and he fought with police officers when they attempted to apprehend him,” according to Maricopa County Prosecutor John Schneider.
