Phoenix police are investigating a collision that took the life of motorcyclist Robert Moore. The suspect in the case has been identified as David Moreno.
Officers were called to the area of 1800 East Southern Avenue and learned that a sedan, operated by Moreno, turned to travel southbound on 18th Street, and collided with the motorcycle operated by Mr. Moore.
Mr. Moore was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the roof of the sedan. Moreno momentarily stopped, but continued traveling westbound on Southern Avenue, eventually colliding with two additional vehicles.
Mr. Moore eventually fell from the roof, and witnesses followed the sedan prior to directing officers to Moreno at a nearby location, where he was taken into custody.
During the investigation Moreno exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
Mr. Moore succumbed to his injuries on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
