Phoenix Police Investigating Death Of 20-Year-Old In Exchange Of Gunfire

Phoenix Police are investigating a homicide that occurred just after 9:00 p.m. Saturday night in a parking lot near 17th Street and Adams Street.  Police were called to the scene for reports of a person who had been shot.  Detectives learned the victim, 20-year-old Darea Owens, was in the parking lot with a large group of people when there was an exchange of gunfire from people in the group.

Mr. Owens died on the scene.
