crime scene notice

A La Paz County bar patron is in custody after shooting at the bar he had just been kicked out of.

According to the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office, on January 29, at approximately 2:00 a.m., deputies and officers from the Parker Police Department responded to “The Bar” located at 10172 Riverside Drive on the Parker Strip regarding shots fired at the location.

Investigators found that a patron at the bar, later identified as Martin Patch had been asked to leave after trying to dispute his bill. Patch continued to become belligerent and argumentative with staff and other patrons, he then began to fight with another patron. Patch was quickly escorted out of the bar and told not to return. Patch is alleged to have gone to his car and retrieved a handgun, he then began shooting rounds into the building that was full of patrons. One of the patrons was struck by a round in the arm and later flown out due to his injuries for treatment.

Parker Police and La Paz County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. A Parker Police Officer arrived on scene and identified Patch who was still on premises. The officer was quickly able to subdue Patch and take him into custody.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office booked Patch into the detention facility on one count of attempted homicide, and five counts of aggravated assault. Martin Patch currently remains in custody on a $1 million bond.
