
A previously deported felon was apprehended by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents last Thursday night.
Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem said agents demonstrated their round-the-clock diligence when they arrested Gilberto Nicolas Campos, 47, of Mexico, after he illegally entered the United States east of the Andrade, California Port of Entry.
After arriving at Yuma Station for processing, record checks revealed Campos had an extensive criminal history, including Possession of Narcotics, Grand Theft Auto and Felony Voluntary Manslaughter with a Firearm. Campos was arrested in February 1999 and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
n February 2011, an immigration judge ordered him removed from the country.
