AZ Clean Elections Chairman Attacks Texas “Nazi Playbook”

Hobbs Appointee Defends Gender Reassignment Surgeries for Minors

Arizona Clean Elections Commissioner Amy Chan

Democrat Amy Chan, who serves as Chairwoman of the Arizona Clean Elections Commission accused Texas Governor, Republican Greg Abbott, of following the “Nazi playbook” for writing the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and informing them of an opinion from Texas’ Attorney General concerning illegal medical procedures on children.

The letter was simple enough.  Texas law prohibits a number of sex change procedures child abuse when they are performed on minors, including sterilization, mastectomies, and removals of otherwise healthy body parts.  “Because the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is responsible for protecting children from abuse, I hereby direct your agency to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation of any reported instances of these abusive procedures in the State of Texas.” wrote Abbott.

Abbott’s letter prompted left-wing Twitter to melt down.  Erin, Trail Mom, whose Twitter profile describes her as a Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master who stands in solidarity with trans youth, wrote that Abbott “…has officially directed Family and Protective Services to begin investigating all trans children in Texas and prosecuting their parents as child abusers.  He has also instructed all teachers, doctors, and caregivers to begin reporting all trans students they see.”

“This is literally some nazi playbook stuff right here.” agreed Chan, the Katie Hobbs appointee to the Clean Elections Commission.  Chan later tweeted that she hoped the trans kids would be able to leave Texas but wondered where would they really be safe?

“The stupidity is that Abbott is actually following the law and working to keep these kids safe.” said one Arizona children’s advocate. “Even if you are all about trans rights, just about everyone understands that gender confusion is real, the answers aren’t always clear, and you don’t let kids make permanent, lifelong decisions while they are still kids.  You can’t cut body parts off when you’re 13 years old and then change your mind about it later on when you’re an adult.  They don’t grow back and you can’t reattach them.  That’s why states pass laws like what they have in Texas.”

Local GOP consultant and pro-family advocate Constantin Querard tweeted a response encouraging Chan to read the letter instead of the tweet about the letter, and asked if Chan was actually supporting illegal medical acts being performed on kids?

“I like Amy, so its nothing personal against Amy, who by the way I’ve worked with and appeared in front of,” said Querard when contacted by the ADI, “but government agencies working to enforce the laws against illegal medical procedures being performed on kids is pretty much the opposite of the Nazi playbook.  The Nazis were the ones performing illegal medical procedures on kids.  So just throwing around the Nazi label because you want to disagree with a Republican is, as usual, a really bad idea.”

“Hard to believe someone like that sits as a judge in cases involving Clean Elections candidates.” said one Southern Arizona Republican candidate. “Imagine having a judge who thinks you’re a Nazi because you’re a Republican, and who ignores both the facts and the actual law when deciding right or wrong on something?  That would scare the hell out of me if I was running Clean Elections.”
