Chairwoman of Arizona Democratic Party Votes Against Police, For Anti-Semitism

In what should be considered a busy week by any standard, State Senator Raquel Teran, who also serves as the Chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party, cast the lone NO vote against a proposed voter initiative that would protect first responders from deliberate attack, as well as boost the death benefits for those killed in the line of duty.

The vote was cast during a committee hearing on the Back The Blue referral, which aims to put the measure before the voters in this November’s general election. Every Republican on the committee voted for the measure, as did the committee’s other Democrats. But Teran chose to defend her party’s extreme anti-police and anti-fire left wing ideology.

“Un-****ing believable,” exclaimed one observer who was there to support both police and fire, “We have police and fire putting their lives on the line while Democrats like Teran demonize them, especially the police.  So scumbags get the message it’s okay to take shots at the police and we have officers being ambushed and killed, and this lady won’t do anything to stop it because her political party is okay with it?” Teran’s radical week didn’t stop there, as she also voted against a striker bill to HB2675, which requires Arizona’s Department of Public Safety to collect information and track crimes related to anti-Semitism.

With attacks on Jewish Americans on the rise, the Legislature wanted to act quickly to go after the violent bigots targeting people for their religious faith, but again Teran voted against the bill, preferring that no extra effort be made to protect Arizona Jews from being targeted.

“Given the degree to which Democrats rely on Jewish votes, I’m actually really surprised at that vote.” remarked a Capitol observer. “There is a fair number of anti-Semites in the Democratic Caucus, but that always seemed based on their hatred of Israel and their fondness for a Palestinian state in its place.  But these votes just look like they don’t like any Jews anywhere, and that is amazing to me.”

In 2022, the Democratic Party is fully invested in fighting for trans rights, the ability for biological men to compete against women in sports, and allowing non-citizens to vote in U.S. elections.  Gone from the party’s agenda is protecting police, fire, Jews from being targeted for violence for no reason other than their jobs or faith.
