Tempe Man Arrested For Human Smuggling

Jake Edward Ferolie, of Tempe, is in custody after he was caught smuggling migrants.

According to the Cochise County sheriff’s Office, on Friday April 1, 2022 at approximately 10:15 pm, U.S. Border Patrol attempted to make a vehicle stop after observing the vehicle pick up four undocumented migrants near Highway 92 and Smith Avenue.

Ferolie, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield for a fully marked units from Border Patrol, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. All law enforcement vehicles had lights and sirens activated during this incident.

Ferolie ultimately stopped the vehicle on South Corgi Lane after making several turns in an attempt to elude law enforcement, and upon stopping the vehicle four migrants exited and ran north.

US Border Patrol agents located and apprehended the four migrants who fled.

Ferolie was booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of Unlawful Flight and Endangerment x 4.
