Two 18-year-olds were arrested after they were involved in a car crash.

According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m.,  officers were dispatched to a single vehicle car crash on Viewpoint Drive between Manley Drive and Roundup Drive. The vehicle was empty when the officers arrived, and it was evident that the vehicle had rolled several times before coming to rest.

Later that morning, 18-year-old Carson Edward West and 18-year-old Rylan Scott Compson came to the police station with obvious injuries and reported that they had been attacked and beaten while they were parked at Fain Park about 2:00 a.m. During the investigation, the men changed their stories and said they had been injured in a car wreck and had left the scene of the accident. They later admitted to entering the car owner’s home and stealing the vehicle. The accident occurred while they were joyriding.

West and Compson were booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Camp Verde Detention Center for residential burglary, auto theft, and criminal damage.
