Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Searching For Vehicle Involved In Fatal Hit-And-Run

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run that happened on Saturday morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, prior to 1:00 a.m., the fatal collision occurred on University Drive just east of 54th Street, in Mesa. The pedestrian had been walking near the north curb when he was struck by an unknown westbound vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and is still outstanding. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the passenger side, possibly to the bumper area, hood, quarter panels, pillars, doors, and/or exterior mirror (numerous paint chips found on scene). There was also evidence of possibly the windshield and/or windows being damaged.
