An older man has died after being hit by a vehicle as he attempted to cross 43rd Avenue mid-block.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision on 43rd Avenue, just north of Vista Avenue just after 7:05 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Jesus Saenz, suffering from significant injuries.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later dies from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle which collided with Saenz remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver did not display any signs of impairment.
