Phoenix Police detectives are investigating the death of man shot in his front yard.
Officers were called to a home in the area of 42nd Street and Southern Avenue around 4:00 this morning. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound, in the front yard of a residence.
The fire department responded and pronounced the man deceased on scene. He was identified as 42-year-old Efren Cayeros. Officers secured the scene and spoke to witnesses who told them the suspect left the area before police arrived.
Police say that currently, there are no suspects in custody. They ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Phoenix Police Department or to call Silent Witness at (480)-WITNESS/ (480)-TESTIGO (Spanish) if they prefer to remain anonymous.
