Group Fails To Get Pro-Abortion Initiative On The Ballot

A pro-abortion group, Arizonans for Reproductive Freedom, quietly announced on Thursday that it has failed to gather enough signatures to qualify a pro-abortion measure for the 2022 ballot.

Various news outlet reported that the group cancelled its appointment with the Secretary of State’s office to turn in signatures.

The group had been preparing for a ballot measure since the leak in Politico of the Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe v Wade. In spite of this head start, they only gathered roughly half of the minimum 350,000 signatures required.

ARF indicated that they would try again to qualify a measure for the 2024 ballot.
