Phoenix Police Investigating Two-Year-Old Drowning In Backyard Pool

Phoenix police detectives are investigating the death of a 2-year-old female who drowned in the family’s backyard pool.

Phoenix police and fire were called to the area of 101st Avenue and Roma Avenue just before 9 a.m. this morning about a child not breathing after being found submerged in the backyard pool.

Firefighters arrive first and located the child who had been pulled from the pool. She was unconscious and not breathing, CPR was being performed by someone at the home. Firefighters took over CPR and started advanced life saving measures.

The child was transported to a local hospital where she did not survive. There is not estimate of how long the child was in the pool.

The details of how the child got into the pool and the circumstances surrounding the drowning remain are under investigation.
