Casa Grande Police Make Two Arrests In Drive-By Shooting

On Monday, July 25th, 2022, the Casa Grande Police Department arrested 47-year-old local Esiquiel Mata and 34-year-old local Amber Beets in connection with the July 19th shooting which left a 32-year-old man seriously injured.

Since the time of the shooting, which occurred in the 500 block of East Manor Drive, investigators gathered what they say is a significant information and intelligence leading them to Mata and Beets.

Investigators believe Mata to be the primary shooter and Beets to be the getaway driver of the vehicle used during the shooting. Mata was taken into custody by detectives in Casa Grande. Beets was taken into custody by detectives, along with the assistance of the Ak-Chin Tribal Police Department at the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa.

Mata and Beets were both arrested without incident and charges of Drive By Shooting and Aggravated Assault will be forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for review.
