Man Arrested For Running A Fake Charity Golf Tournament Scam In Scottsdale

Robert Francis Alexander has been arrested Scottsdale Police Department officers for fraudulent schemes and theft.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, from May through July 2022, Alexander, age 57, ran a fake charity golf tournament scam in Scottsdale.

Multiple residents reported that Alexander was collecting money on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Project for charity golf tournament at the Silverleaf Golf Course. The golf tournament does not exist and the Wounded Warrior Project charity has no knowledge of Alexander nor his activity.

It was also reported that Alexander was collecting money as an investment in purchasing golf balls to be sold in and around Scottsdale.

The investigation by detectives found Alexander was conducting multiple fraudulent schemes. On August 8, 2022, Robert Alexander was arrested by Scottsdale police detectives in Phoenix.
