Ducey Calls White House “Clueless” For Denying Migrants Are Walking Across The Border

On Sunday night in May, Border Patrol agents attempted to process what law enforcement officers described as a "rude and unruly mob" of approximately 500 illegal aliens in Yuma.

On Monday, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey called the White House “clueless,” after White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that migrants are not just “walking” across the border” in response to a question from a FOX News reporter.

The reporter asked Jean-Pierre why unvaccinated migrants are allowed to cross the border unvaccinated, but tennis star Novak Djokovic was not allowed to enter the country to compete in the US Open because he is unvaccinated.

“It is not that simple,” Jean-Pierre replied. “It’s not just that people are walking across the border. We have a plan in place.”

“The White House is clueless. If only President Biden visited the border, he’d see the mass amount of migrants walking across the border. This negligence is exactly why Arizona took action to close the border wall gaps near Yuma,” tweeted the governor.

If the Biden administration’s plan is to allow thousands of illegal aliens to cross the southern border on a daily basis, it is succeeding.

Recent numbers from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection show the Yuma sector had 259,895 migrant encounters from October 2021 to July 2022 – a nearly 250 percent increase from the prior year and the highest increase of all border sectors. Nearly 24,500 of those encounters were in July.

“The Biden Administration lies to the American people every single day, especially about the crisis on our border, so why would we be surprised that his Press Secretary would claim something as absurd as people aren’t walking across the border? Our borders are open because they want them open. Everything else is just theater,” said Janae Shamp, the Republican nominee for State Senate in Arizona’s 29th District.
