Two juvenile students are being investigated by Phoenix police for school threats posted on social media. School administration at Veritas Prep Academy closed the school for the day because of this ongoing investigation.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on August 31, 2022, officers responded to Veritas Prep Academy at about 10:00 a.m. Officers contacted school administrators who relayed that they learned of social media posts and a written note making threats towards the school. At the time there was nothing to indicate the threats were credible.
Veritas Prep administrators cancelled school for the day.
On September 1, 2022, officers contacted school administrators and were given the identities of two juvenile students believed to be behind the threats. Officers did further investigations into this case and were able to contact the two students involved prior to the school opening for the day.
The investigation is still going on.
