Semitruck Struck By Train East Of Yuma

On Wednesday evening, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Wellton Station provided emergency medical care to the driver of a semitruck after it was struck by a train at Spot Road east of Yuma.

According to Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem, the semi was struck by the train while crossing the ungated track. The engine of the semi sustained most of the impact and the driver’s injuries were not life threatening.

The driver was treated on scene by agents certified as Emergency Medical Technicians and turned over to Tri-Valley E.M.S. for transport to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
