Chandler Police Arrest Suspect In Child Molestation Case

An apartment complex maintenance man has been arrested for child molestation by officers with the Chandler Police Department.

The investigation began on July 29, at 8:06 a.m., when a Chandler Police Department officer was dispatched to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of N. McQueen Rd. regarding a report of a child molestation.

Officers arrived and learned the suspect, described as wearing a blue shirt and blue pants, had taken a juvenile in the area as a school bus stop, behind a building and committed child molestation.

Police also learned the suspect was driving a golf cart.

Detectives conducted the neighborhood canvas in hopes of locating the suspect. They also obtained DNA and sent it to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Forensic Lab for testing.

By September 7, 2022 Chandler police receive the DNA results from the Arizona Department of Public Safety Forensic Lab identifying Jesus Jorge Del Campo, one of the apartment complex maintenance workers, as the suspect in the case.

Delcampo was arrested on September 8, on two counts of molestation of a child, and one count of kidnapping, both class two felonies.
