Xavier, Brophy, Central High Schools Put On Lockdown After Shooting Scare

Three juvenile students are being investigated by Phoenix police after a fight broke out at Central High School just after 12:00 p.m. on Friday. During the fight students reported hearing gun shots being fired on campus. The school quickly went into lockdown procedures and Phoenix police responded within minutes to secure the campus.

The first officers arrived at the campus and immediately began to look for any signs of an active shooter. Additional officers arrived and secured the campus as efforts continued to check every classroom for any potential threats.

Most students and staff stayed locked down in the classrooms and other buildings while the entire campus was checked. Police went from building to building and classroom to classroom making sure no threat existed.

At this time, there is no evidence that a firearm was used, however, detectives are still investigating this incident.

Detectives are currently looking into what led up to the fight and have detained three juvenile males.
