Phoenix Police Investigating Shooting Following Traffic Dispute

Phoenix Police are investigating a traffic dispute turned fire fight that left two people injured.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on September 14th, around 1:50 p.m. officers responded to a call about a shooting in the area of 40th Avenue and Camelback Road. Officers on scene located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers learned that the female had been driving a vehicle involved in a traffic dispute with another driver, who was later found in the area of 3600 West Camelback Road, also suffering from a gunshot wound. That motorist was identified as Caleb Santillanes.

The investigation revealed that Santillanes was involved in shootout with male passenger of the female victim. At this time, that individual remains outstanding. Both Santillanes, and the adult female victim were treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.

Santillanes was later booked into the Maricopa County Jail for one count of aggravated assault, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of discharging a firearm in city limits.
