Man Shoots At Vehicle In Phoenix Strikes Juvenile

Phoenix Police responded to a shooting that occurred near 28th Drive and Adams Street. During the gunfire, one juvenile was struck and transported to the hospital.

According to Phoenix Police, on Monday just after 2:30 p.m., on September 19, 2022, officers were called to the area of 28th Drive and Adams Street for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one juvenile suffering from a graze wound. The juvenile was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned the suspect, identified as Mark Strickland, fired a gun at the vehicle that was occupied by a man and the juvenile. The man was not injured. Information indicates that the man in the car and Strickland have an on-going dispute.

After the shooting, Strickland left before police arrived. Officers searched the area and spoke to potential witnesses on scene. Strickland was found at a different location and arrested.

Strickland was booked into jail on several charges including aggravated assault. This remains an on-going investigation.
