Douglas Police Asking For Public’s Help Identifying Vandal Who Stole Child Statue Arms

The Douglas Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the persons responsible for the destruction of the sculpture located at 301 Center Street, known as Wilson’s Pocket Park.

The vandalism occurred in the morning hours of October 2, 2022.

The statue, donated for a beautification project in the park, and described as historically significant, depicts a letter carrier and child.

The statue was destroyed with both arms of the child statue removed and stolen.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Sgt. Toman at 307-358-3311.
