The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested 38-year-old Christopher Nelson following the October 11th robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 1276 East Florence Boulevard.

According to the Casa Grande Police Department, on October 11, 2022, at approximately 3:23 p.m., Casa Grande Police officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank after receiving a call regarding a suspicious person in the area and another call from the bank reporting the actual robbery.

Nelson was reportedly seen entering the bank wearing a mask and gloves, displaying a handgun in his waistband, and passing a bank teller a note demanding money. Nelson was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the bank northbound into an adjacent neighborhood.

Responding officers saw Nelson running in an alley just north of the bank and initiated a foot pursuit. A police K9 was used in the search and Nelson was located hiding under a covered ATV in the driveway of a residence in the 1200 block of East 11th Street.

Nelson was found to be in possession of evidence linking him to the robbery. The handgun, which was determined to be a bb gun, was also located in the area. Nelson was taken into custody without further incident.
