An advisory by the Mark Kelly for Senate campaign that children over the age of two or people who don’t disclose their vaccine status would be required to wear masks to a spendy fundraiser has sparked interest on social media and outraged physicians, who question both the efficacy of masks and any adults that would force a child to don one.

The event, billed as the “Final Phoenix Reception,” is set for Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, at an undisclosed location. Tickets for the event range from $5,000 to $100.

“We are asking attendees to voluntarily disclose their vaccine status at the door. Those who are vaccinated are asked to bring proof of vaccination and (either a vaccination card or a photo of a vaccination card) when checking in at the event. We are asking that people who don’t disclose their status, over the age of 2, wear a mask indoors and outdoors. Mark Kelly of Senate will only use vaccination information for the purpose of determining safety protocols for in-person Campaign events in compliance with applicable state, and local, or federal relations (sic) related to such events. Vaccination information will never be stored. The health and safety of attendees is Mark Kelly for Senate’s top priority. Even the Campaign’s best efforts can’t eliminate all risk from COVID-19, and so attendees assume the risk by choosing to attend this event.”

“There is NO evidence that public masking is of any benefit in preventing transmission of viral illnesses, and there are harmful effects especially in children,” Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, told the Arizona Daily Independent in an email. “See www.aapsonline.org/mask-facts. Outdoors, masks never made any sense whatsoever. COVID vaccines do NOT protect against transmission. After the vaccine rollout, there has been an enormous increase in excess deaths and serious permanent disability, with no other explanation. See www.openvaers.com/covid-data. Do we want candidates who force us to be muzzled and jabbed to be in their presence?”

Kelly’s challenger is the Senate race, Blake Masters, responded to the advisory: “Proof of COVID vaccination required to attend a Mark Kelly fundraiser. Democrats are the party of masks & vaccine mandates 😷 Republicans are the party of freedom.”

Among the many concerns with the vaccines is its effect on young people.

On October 7, the Office of Florida’s Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD, recommended “against males aged 18 to 39 from receiving mRNA Covid-19 vaccines.” Florida’s “analysis” found “an increased risk of cardiac-related death among men 18-39.”

In an article in the fall issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Orient discusses the importance of fertility and the fact that the question of the effect of COVID-19 vaccines is not yet clearly answered.

“The potential detrimental impact of the novel COVID-19 vaccines on reproductive health was disregarded by the manufacturers during vaccine development,” she wrote. “Currently there are no published prospective studies examining the effect of vaccines on human reproduction.”
