On October 20th, 2022 just after 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a home near the 6000 block of North Featherstone Trail for a report of a shooting. Initial information provided to the 9-1-1 call taker, was that someone had been shot.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located 56-year-old Howard Ocskai with obvious signs of trauma. Picture Rocks Fire Department responded and transported Mr. Ocskai to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to collect evidence, conduct interviews, and process the scene. Through their investigation, detectives learned an altercation had taken place between Mr. Osckai and his son, 30-year-old Nicholas Ocskai. During the altercation Mr. Osckai was shot. Nicholas was taken into custody on-scene.
Nicholas was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and charged with Second Degree Murder.
