86-Year-Old Woman, Dogs Succumb To Injuries From Phoenix House Fire

An 86-year-old female died Sunday morning at a local hospital after being extracted from her fire ingulfed residence near 39th Avenue and Bell Road.   

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, Police Officers and Fire Fighters responded to an active house fire in North Phoenix. As they got to the residence, the fire was quickly extinguished, and an 86-year-old resident was taken to a local hospital. 

The following morning, the victim died as a result of her injuries. Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department are continuing their investigation to learn what led up to the fatal fire. 

There were believed to be 37 dogs inside the residence with the victim, 9 of the dogs were saved and placed in the care of our local humane society.
