Phoenix police have arrested 38-year-old Harry Denman after he shot at officers while in a parking lot at 59th Avenue and Buckeye Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, late Thursday night, on October 27, 2022, a two-person unit was leaving a parking lot of a local business when Denman began to talk with them. The officers were in the process of leaving to respond to a call and explained that to the man.

As the officers were backing out of the parking spot, Denman pulled a handgun and fired two rounds at the officer’s patrol car. Denman then ran into the occupied business at which point officers followed him inside. Once inside, the officers had a physical confrontation with Denman before he was taken into custody. Denman was placed under arrest.

Denman suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for medical attention. He was then booked into jail. Both officers were uninjured during this incident.

An investigation is underway into how Denman sustained his injury.
