Phoenix Police Investigating Pedestrian Death

Phoenix police detectives responded to 11th Avenue and Bell Road to investigate a collision that left one man dead.

On Tuesday night, at about 6:00, Phoenix police responded to a call of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian near 11th Avenue and Bell Road. Officers found Henry Eugene Johnson, age 44, suffering serious injury on the ground.

Mr. Johnson was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information indicates Mr. Johnson attempted to walk across Bell Road when a vehicle going west on Bell Road struck him.

There were no signs of impairment by the adult female driver.
