Be afraid; be very afraid; I’ve personally experienced what these people can do to a state.
Probably kiss the following 11 big things goodbye, along with other major changes:
- Any attention to border security, even though FAIR* estimates almost 5 million illegalshave invaded the US since Joe Biden took office in 2021.
- Efforts to insure election integrity in Arizona. This movement will die a quick death under the propaganda rubric of “discrimination”and “voter intimidation”.
- Reasonable efforts to protect the unborn. Hey, they made Catholic NM an abortion-spa destination locale; they’ll do it here.
- Arizona incentives to attract high-technology jobs. Hard-left rationale: that’s racist!
- A supply side, shared-with-Mexico water solution (as in MORE water) from advanced technologies deployed in the Baja. Expect more top-down, bureaucratic control with the hidden agenda of no growth, and NO WATER.
- Rational & effective crime control; as the Soros-funded “Open Society” (whatever that means) approach takes precedence. Refer to Soros’ feckless Pima County Attorney Laura Conover and Sheriff Chris Nanos. Those 2 are doing such a fine job!<sarc>
- Roads, highways, mining sites, subdivisions, etc. They’ll get far more difficult to plan, permit & build as environmental nazis & neo-druids like Tucson’s lawsuit Godzilla, CBD (Center for Bio Diversity) and others will now determine state policies (“NO!”).
- Arizona’s pursuit of effective public education, i.e. vouchers, meaningful (non-Woke) curriculums, stricter teaching standards, greater performance-employment accountability, etc. All will get trashed as union-bossed Red4Ed dictates policy. The grotesque ‘gubbmint’ jobs scheme, Tucson Unified SD, becomes the model for mass public education.
- A rational & predictive tax policy. Any balanced regimen that rewards producers, creators, small business, etc. will succumb to the old Leftist stand-by: use of the tax code to right the (Woke) wrongs of natural human differences, i.e. standard Marxist tax doctrine. Don’t be surprised when they raise taxes with more gimmicks.
- More state involvement in the gun control, errr abolition, movement.
- Hard-Left, press newsies like Steller, Fitzsimmons, Roberts, Montini, and Fischer now really do get to “make policy”….politics imitates art, such a deal!
So, how can we take measures right now to thwart, deflect, or diffuse what’s coming?
- Demand an emergency session of the Arizona Legislature to put in safeguards, before the 2023 session
- Join with 3 other western states, of the 9 states in the gargantuan 9thFederal Circuit Court of Appeals to be removed from that legal monstrosity. Idaho, Nevada, and Montana have made no secret of their desire to get-the-hell-out of the 9th Federal Circuit, and its legal diktats from California.
- Demand competence, strategic thinking, and a uber-locality focus for all Republican Parties in Arizona; end reliance on the Washington consulting class, and cleanup the interminable statewide pettiness. Losers can’t be choosey.
