Phoenix Police Investigating Deadly Fiery Crash That Left 3 Dead

Phoenix Police detectives continue to investigate a collision that occurred Saturday night near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road in which 3 people were killed.

Early information indicates a vehicle driven by an adult male with an adult male passenger were going east on Thomas Road. The vehicle collided into the rear of a pickup truck. Speed is believed to be a factor. The pickup truck was occupied by three people. The pickup truck caught fire and the people inside died as a result, according to Sergeant Melissa Soliz.

The Office of Medical Examiner will assist with identifying the three deceased in the pickup truck.

There is no update on the medical condition of the other two men who were transported to the hospital from the other vehicle.

The collision remains an on-going investigation pending toxicology results for the at-fault driver and further analysis of the collision.
