Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal hit and run collision involving a pedestrian that happened late Sunday night in the area of 36th Avenue and McDowell Road.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, just before 11:30 p.m. on December 4, 2022, officers responded to 3600 West McDowell Road regarding a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian. The pedestrian involved in the collision did not survive his injuries and was pronounced on scene by the Phoenix Fire Department. The vehicle involved in the crash took off from the scene.
Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information indicates the male pedestrian was crossing mid-block south across McDowell Road when he was struck by a vehicle going east on McDowell Road.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
