Biden Trip To Arizona Provides Politicians With Opportunity To Claim Credit For Chips

Arizona politicians and President Joe Biden took to Twitter on Tuesday to claim credit for bringing the TSMC chip manufacturing operation to Arizona. The company is expected to create 4,500 jobs at its Arizona operations.

Biden, Governor Doug Ducey, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Governor-elect Katie Hobbs, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, members of Arizona’s congressional delegation, TSMC Chairman Dr. Mark Liu and TSMC Founder Dr. Morris Chang were among the dignitaries at the newly constructed factory in North Phoenix.

In 2020, Governor Ducey announced TSMC selected Arizona for its new U.S. advanced semiconductor facility – the largest foreign investment in state history.
